Interview
Received a token interview for the Merchandising Manager position at the flagship store in downtown San Francisco. I knew my chances weren't good right away when the interviewer (store manager?) rarely made eye contact and seemed distracted by what was going on around him. (The interview was conducted on the sales floor). He really didn't register much of anything I was saying in the duration, because many of his follow up questions I had answered in my previous responses. In fact, the only time he was engaging or seemed interested at all, was when I asked him about himself at the end of the interview. He spoke of moving to San Francisco recently from the east coast and how expensive it was comparatively. I assume, like some companies, the interview was just a formality and they probably have internal candidates already lined up for the position. I just hope in the future they can get people to "fake" it better and not make the process so awkward.

Interview
Sent in a resume based on a job posting. Received a call to set up an interview within 1 week. Met with regional manager at the regional office, interviewed for 1 hour. I was offered the position the following day and started training at a training store 2 weeks later. The store I was hired for wasn't open yet when I was hired.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Experience in retail, fashion? Why was I looking for change? Why Old Navy? Leadership abilities? Mostly situational questions in regards to merchandising, leading, development, etc. Not that difficult. It was also years ago, when the company was growing at an incredible rate and stores were opening constantly.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Old Navy in Sept 2015
Interview
Had 2 interviews with 2 different store managers. First one was with the store manager of the store I applied to and the second was with a different store manager of another store. Both were nice and spent some of the time telling me what would be involved with the job. Otherwise I got asked typical questions. One question was what is your favourite movie! Which I found funny.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Old Navy (Springfield, VA) in July 2013
Interview
Called me after two weeks. It was an group interview. We had to answer questions like favorite color, food, etc
then we walked around the store to pick out an outfit and tell them why we picked that outfit.
