The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Optiver in June 2022
Interview
After I passed the SHL test, there is a HR interview, and I was rejected after the interview with HR, which is something I never had in my past experience. HR has tremendous power in optiver, which is very rare in a prestigious company. And during the process I don’t feel that I am respected, it’s not like a conversation, with some pre-prepared questions, and you need to answer in the way they like.
Seems that motivation is the main focus of the interview, but
I would say, it’s quite random. Because the reason is quite generic, saying my motivation, experience do not match the role. HR told me that she would get back to me after one hour, but in fact I received the rejection 2 days later.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What optiver, why you switched to different jobs during the past years, how you handle conflicts, other companies you are applying for.
First round is HR interview, all BQs. Second is Tech round, gave me a hard level Leetcode problem. Third round is a case study, I forget the detail but it is a really complicated problem, a lot of data details need to be noticed. My programming language is Python.
HR Phone Interview: All BQs
Online Assessment: HackerRank (prolly some python Qs just forgot)
On-Site Tech Interview: Probabilities and Statistics
Final BQ Interview
The whole process took about a month, casual interview vibe
Got an online coding test invitation immediately after submitting an application. It took three hours, but I didn't proceed to the next round. I don't remember all of the questions, but one was coding up a trader analyzer
