The hiring manager excused herself a minute into the interview. Each member of the panel came with a question. The interview was scheduled for an hour, with instructions to allot time as I saw fit. Nevertheless, a member of the panel interrupted my answer and told me to speed up... so that their questions ended a half hour early. The panel obviously had someone else in mind and were conducting the interview only to say they looked elsewhere. I have never had an interview before where the manager bows out of the interview and hence the decision making process. I was not allowed to ask questions to the panel at the end. They said I needed to direct questions to the recruiter, as if it were not important for me to be able to learn from them if the position were the right fit for me.
