Multi-steps, ending with a team interview. It was clear that they wanted someone skilled, capable of running with the position, and someone who would fit well with the team. Phone interviews follow with 2 on 1 or 1 on 1 interviews, and these are typically relaxed, but searching.

Interview
Submitted cover letter and resume via email. Received a phone call and had a phone screening. Was asked to write out answers to some questions and submit within two days (I think). Got a call back to come in for an interview. Came back for another, took a skills test, and was offered the job.
