I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at PNC Financial Services Group in Oct 2012
Interview
The company was recruiting on campus. The job posting required just a resume submission. The first round of interviews was on campus. It was a pretty straightforward 30 minute interview with two employees - a managing director from their capital markets division and an analyst from the treasury management department. The questions were 100% behavioral, such as "Walk me through your resume" / "Tell me about a time when you stepped up as a leader" / "Why do you want to work for us" / "What distinguishes you from the other candidates" / "Did you enjoy your previous internship and why did you decide to switch to a different company."

Question 1
Not really, the recruiters were very friendly and positive. As long as you give them logical and complete answers to the basic questions you should be fine. Also try to ask them something about the company, so that you can show them that you have done your homework ahead of time.
