Received a call then two in person interviews.
I received a phone call and then was invited the following week to meet in person. After an hour and a half drive, I was given the job description and that was it. Another in-person interview was scheduled the following week. As a professional, I take my marketing work and all my previous examples of what I can bring to the table. I was told by them to send some additional work via email, which I did.
Upon leaving, they wanted me to leave my folder behind so they can review it. I was very apprehensive but given the circumstances, I agreed.
The following afternoon, I get an email from them informing me that they have decided to go with another candidate. I was completely fine by that but at this time, I wanted my work back. I sent an email asking for my folder to be returned. They responded that they would get in touch with me ASAP, 6 days later, no response.
In the interim, I took matters into my own hand and emailed upper management and asked for my folder to be returned. I was informed that the folder has been lost. At this point, as anyone can understand, I was not happy. I sent them an email and told them that I did not want any of my hard-earned work to be copied or mimicked in any way form or fashion. I was informed that they would never do that. I sent a few emails inquiring about my folder and got the same response, that they are unable to locate my work.
My experience was negative. Professionalism goes a long way and that's one thing I did not see from this company. I have advise them to return my work to me as soon as they find it, which seems very unlikely. I'm hoping my work will not be stolen by this company for their advantage.
Future candidates, you've been forewarned, do not take your work.
