3-stage interview. The first test was a timed excel test. The test was designed to test an applicant’s skill in vlookup, macro, and sql. The test was comprehensive and timed at 2 hours.
It was clear within 5 minutes that the company was culturally deficient. The interviewer was pompous.
First, he asked for my salary requirements, then implied my experience was not in line with such a number.
Next, he asked my typical working hours. I said 50 hours per week. He replied, "our employees tend to have a stronger sense of devotion and work ethic".
Finally, he asked if I was comfortable going in-office five days per week. He expressed his doubts in my ability to do this, given I currently work a hybrid schedule. The irony seemed to be lost on him, as he took this call from his home office, several states away from the job location.
Overall, very glad I was able to dodge this bullet!
I applied online. I interviewed at Palisades (Austin, TX) in July 2024
Interview
Great Experience with the recruiter, I did not get the job. However, the process was straightforward. The technical assessment is not easy and having Excel knowledge and SQL will definitely help.
