I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at PolarLake (Dublin, Dublin) in Jan 2019
Interview
The recruiter contacted me to organise a call with HR. This first step was Ok, I gathered info about the role and briefly went through my background. The next step was set another call 2weeks later. The interviewer was not clearly not prepared and was not aware about what I discussed with HR.
After this call I didn’t get feedback for another 2 weeks. There was a big lack of communication and update from Bloomberg.
2 weeks later I got positive feedback to proceed with an interview with CEO. This meeting was rescheduled several times which caused me difficulties at my current job. The discussion was very professional and pleasant though. Despite I was in other process which I got an offer, and I was kind to proceed with this position, I didn’t hear anything about BPL in a month.
Multiple follow up from my recruiter and no feedback received. After all this time I got positive feedback I was selected between multiple candidates. They were happy to give me an offer and few days later I had another call with HR to review my current benefits to make sure they give a good offer.
Again 2 weeks later and no offer, feedback, ...
After multiple follow up and near 3 months of process, I was told I was going to get the offer 2h later, but instead of the offer, it turned out that they had internal problems and now the hiring manager had changed and someone else was taking over and he wanted me to interview and meet me. Despite this unprofessional from BPL and long process duration I was kind to meet onsite the Head of Product for a quick chat and confirm the offer. HR insisted that CEO was confident with my election and that this was just a pure formality.
The interview was horrible. This person didn’t apologize at all, he didn’t know history about my application and he was rude and insolent during all the meeting (interrogation).
As per previous discussion, I was expecting feedback the following day but I didn't get it.
So the following day I told me recruiter to drop my application immediately and to communicate the lack of interest for this position to BPL.
You can’t treat people this way, not responding to emails, and leave them hanging for so long and then expect they are still interested in the application.
Nobody read my resume ahead of time and were asking me who interviewed me before and what was asked to not ask same questions again and again.
Just wonder if they treat candidates in this way, how it’d be working there and how can the company be successful!
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at PolarLake (Dublin, Dublin) in July 2017
Interview
The recruiter contacted me to organise a meeting with the CEO and CTO.
The discussion was very professional and both meetings were organised on the same day, which was convenient.
The next interview was with someone in the US and he wasn't very prepared. He had technical difficulties trying get the meeting stared and could never get the video working on his side.
He also moved meeting rooms between the interview, which I though was very unprofessional of him.
