I applied online. I interviewed at PrepScholars (Boston, MA) in June 2019
Interview
The interview process had two stages, both done over Skype. The first was 20 minutes long, the second was an hour with different people from the company. After a resume drop, I was invited to the first-round interview. I received only positive feedback throughout the process, using words like 'stellar application', and other strong indicators of success.
After completing the second round, I was informed it was the last round. The process so far had taken around a week. I was then told they would get back to me 'within two weeks, but likely much sooner'. Unfortunately, as other interviewers have mentioned, this was a lie. This company will ghost you if they choose not to hire you.
After 3 weeks, I sent multiple follow-up emails before finally giving up. I was hoping they would have the decorum to at least respond to my asking if my application had been lost somewhere. Unfortunately, they did not. This is greatly disrespectful, especially after indicating likely success and promising a response within a timeframe. I certainly felt lead on.
I would recommend you not waste your time here - the other tutoring agencies I applied to were equally receptive, and much more polite both in the rejections and acceptances I received. Certainly no other company was near this disrespectful of general decency.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
In the first round, they emailed me three SAT questions, with ~5 minutes to solve them. They also asked for a mock teaching seminar for one SAT question as if I were tutoring them. The second round also followed this format, but with ~20 minutes for 15 questions (5 writing, 4 math, 6 reading), and with mock tutoring both a math and English question.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at PrepScholars in Oct 2018
Interview
Interviewed via Skype . Giving a bad review because 1. They took a month to respond after submitting my application and 2. They ghosted after the hour+ long Skype interview --without the courtesy of responding to my follow-up email and without letting me know whether or not they'd move forward. Rather than outright say they weren't interested, they chose to ghost. Perhaps it was out of disrespect, or just a lack of courtesy/professionalism.
