I applied online. I interviewed at PrimaryBid in June 2024
Interview
Pretty standard interview practices. The first interview was a basic remote screening. The second was 45 min remote interview. Felt a little rushed.
Nearly 10 days after the interview, I hadnt heard back from them. I checked Linkedin and found that they had hired someone but ghosted me.
They really need to improve their communication with candidates. It is a basic courtesy.
I would of rated this more positively if the communation was there and the process didn’t feel rushed.

Question 1
You work for Google and have been asked to work on something that would increase the value of Google Maps to their customers. What would you do? Very ambiguous and you can propose anything.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at PrimaryBid
Interview
Was approached by an internal headhunter. It was a 3-stage process comprised of conversations of technical and marketing stakeholders, from engineers all the way up to VP level at the end of the process. Interview gave a very good feel for the business and role, as well as the personalities within the team. Very engaging process throughout, with clear expectations set and brilliant communication. Seems like a great company.
I was very excited about this opportunity and the product and spent a week prepping for the interview and was really looking forward to speaking with the team. The staff member who interviewed me jumped on the call on a Friday post holiday and spoke at me for 15 minutes. I didn't have a chance to really ask any questions or answer anything. I just listened to him run down a bit about the company and tell me that he thought I would be a great fit and really thought the manager would like me based on my experience. He told me not to worry if I didn't hear anything 'for a couple of weeks' but they would be in touch to schedule the next interview. I followed up two and a half weeks later and didn't receive an answer. I followed up once more and asked straight up if they had hired someone and they had.
I feel like the whole thing was a waste of time (especially puzzling as the guy followed up to ask me for an interview when his first email went into my spam folder). He apologised in his second email stating he had asked his team to touch base with me while he was on another holiday but it all felt a bit chaotic and a little rude, to be honest. It's a shame as I loved their business model and know quite a few people in finance and thought it could be a great opportunity.
