I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Reno, NV) in July 2011
Interview
1 online assessment, 1 phone interview and finally onsite interview. The first step is to apply online at progressive careers website. Next you will do an online assessment where some questions will test your ability to analyze data; I never figured out how the questions were correlated with the job because some of them were assessing you ability to do forecasting based on prior data. The next step is a phone interview and finally an onsite interview.

The interview process is pretty strenuous. You do have an assessment that you have to take. Before you get the in person interview. After you do the assessment you do have virtual star question method questions that you have to answer. If you don’t do well with that you won’t get the final interview with the recruiter or hiring person. Definitely study STAR questions. They’re kinda hard. And then the final interview they do ask you a few star questions as well. You can use the ones from your virtual interview. It was really easy-going though. I did appreciate how easy the conversation was for the final interview.
