I had to answer an excel question, then talk through the question within the interview. May have a very random question at the end to test your problem solving skills.
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at QBE (Madison, WI) in Sept 2022
Interview
It all began with a virtual career fair, which was very well organized. The event gave me a good sense of the company’s culture and values, and I appreciated how easy it was to engage with different representatives. The virtual format was smooth, allowing for meaningful conversations despite the online setting.
Following the career fair, I had a phone screening with HR. The process was efficient, and the HR representative was very welcoming. They made sure to clarify the next steps and were transparent about what to expect. I felt that they were genuinely interested in getting to know me, which set a positive tone for the entire experience.
Now, I am preparing for the final round, where I will be interviewing with one of the actuaries. I’m excited about this opportunity to dive deeper into the technical aspects of the role and explore how my skills align with the company’s needs. From the initial interaction to now, the process has been well-structured and professional, leaving me eager for the next stage.

I applied online. I interviewed at QBE (London, England) in June 2019
Interview
Invited to in-person interview in London. Interview was semi technical with many questions regarding interests, knowledge and analytical skills. Duration was approximately 45 minutes. Interviewers were professional and friendly but QBE took too long to come back to me with an answer.
