      Senior Ops Lead Interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at R1 RCM (Chicago, IL) in June 2012

      Interview

I was referred through a current employee, and contacted for a phone interview within a few days. The phone interview was pretty standard - 30 minutes of the recruiter asking about my background and previous experience, then explaining what Accretive is looking for in a new employee. I was asked at the end of the phone interview to come in for face to face interviews the next week. I interviewed with 6 different people - 4 "managers" and 2 "peers". The interviews were again pretty standard and not difficult. I left feeling very good about how everything went and was told I'd be contacted within a week. After not hearing back, I called the HR recruiter to get an update. The recruiter was extremely difficult to get a hold of, always sending calls to voicemail and only occasionally returning my messages. He explained that they were making organizational changes within the company and waiting to get exec approval before bringing anyone onboard - it seemed fishy and I was right to have my suspicions. Week after week would go by, and I was never contacted first with updates, I always had to call them asking for an update. They kept leading me on by asking for my soonest possible start date, saying they'd have approval for me to start within the next 2-3 days, and then I wouldn't hear from them again until I reached out after a week or two. After about 3 weeks I was finally told that their legal department was trying to work through my non-compete with my former employer. After hearing that, and all the trouble I'd already gone through trying to get information out of them, I decided to take an offer from another company instead of waiting around on Accretive. I'm glad I did - if HR is any indication of how the company is functioning, they are a mess.
