I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at RBC (Singapore River) in Sept 2024
Interview
- 1 hour phone interview involving statistics, foundations of quantitative finance (no-arbitrage, put-call parity), numerical methods (Newton's method in Python) and brainteasers.
- 4.5 hours superday with 5 interviews with trade support lead, traders, quant researcher and the hiring manager. Way overkill for a prospective internship.
Applied end Jun, first round in early Aug, superday on mid Sep, received rejection end Oct. Tells you enough about their efficiency.
Also ghosts you with no updates (including the HM) for months after each stage. No basic courtesy of thanking the candidate for his/her time and providing feedback for his/her effort. The experience left a sour impression of medium-sized banks.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Way too many to count. Be familiar with C++, Python (pandas, numpy), statistics and maths. Stay strong and take toilet breaks during the superday.
