      AML Investigator (FIU) Interview

      17 Oct 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Toronto, ON
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at RBC (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

Phone Interview: (30 mins with 3 Managers present, Asking AML/Behavioral type questions: a) Why did you apply to this position b) Why do you want to work for RBC C) How did you prepare for this interview today d) Explain the processes of AML (i.e. Placement, Layering, Integration) e) Salary expectations f) What is Money Laundering? / Who is our regulating body? In-Person Interview: ( 5 person panel- All hiring Managers and HR present ) 5 Case study questions (30 minutes individual) All AML related detailing client accounts and finding suspicious activity and rationale as to why you think they're suspicious (30 mins of you explaining your thought process) Behavioral Interview (30-40 mins) Interview questions asked: 1) Why do you think you're a good fit for RBC/This position? 2) What are some common misconceptions about you? 3) Strengths / Weaknesses ? 4)Biggest Accomplishment? 5) Where do you see yourself with RBC? Long term goals? NOTES TO CONSIDER***** (RBC BAY STREET LOCATION-AML/FIU OFFICE: Appears to be very outdated and unclean. Ques of desks, and the office is DEAD SILENT. There's not a receptionist or lobby area. The Office is not a warm inviting cheery atmosphere or nether does it convey a sense that RBC takes pride in their office surroundings.) Lunchroom/Kitchen area seemed very outdated, small, cluttered Office Bathrooms were filthy and office carpets were riddled with stains and old outdated carpeting throughout Interview was very much bully tactics. All Managers were very serious in delivery and only at the end of the interviewing process did they "warm up". Very professional but stern interview.

      AML Investigator FIU Interview

      17 Feb 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at RBC

      Interview

I agree with the interview review before mine. The hiring manager made me feel miserable during my interview, he was very rude and unprofessional. I'm disappointed that a huge reputable bank like RBC would even employ such unqualified managers. Sufficed to say, I declined their offer as I found another job with another bank. I did not want to have manager that would use his power to bully me.
