I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Rakuten in Mar 2016
Interview
I got no reply for my application on the website. I later got a reply after asking some friends to refer me. I had to record my answers to a set of behavioural questions (already listed in other reviews here) and to solve a problem on Codility. I then got two interviews for the role where I was asked again to repeat my CV, answers to some of the already recorded questions and very few and easy technical questions.
I was later told that I didn't make it for the role and I was offered another interview for the Infrastructure Engineer role, which also didn't have any outcome.
The process has been extremely long and HR often ignored or didn't properly read my emails. Interviewers didn't read my CV or pre-recorded questions and often didn't give clear ideas about what was the role about.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rakuten (Tokyo) in Mar 2023
Interview
I had two interviews. The first one is an interview with the technical team, discussing my knowledge of the role. The second Interview, it's more like a fit and proper test: checking if you are fit for your potential boss. To my surprise, the one that interviewed me was from another division(?) so I cannot leave a good impression on him (I was confused about how I am supposed to show that I have knowledge about the division if the interviewer is from another division). but maybe it's only an issue from my side. Anyway, the results came very fast so hats off to the HR team.
