It was a great conversation where I learned more about Raylo and the role, and had the chance to discuss my own skills and experiences. The interview was well-balanced and straightforward. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at Raylo in Nov 2023
Interview
Very positive experience interviewing at Raylo. It moved quickly, hearing back within a few days of my application with short turnaround time between interview rounds. The speed of the process and number of rounds could be a challenge alongside your day job, but overall there was a decent amount of flexibility and it's clear they invest a lot of time and effort in recruiting (which is good!). The Talent Lead was warm, super communicative and helpful throughout, with clear timelines and feedback. Everyone I met through the interviews was really friendly too.
5 rounds overall: 1) introductory call with Talent Lead, 2) interview with hiring manager, 3) technical test, 4) 2x in-person interviews (case study with hiring manager and values interview with another team member), 5) final interview with senior stakeholder (e.g. CEO)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Talk through my background, why Raylo, why this role, talk through interesting previous projects, how would you approach certain problems (e.g. pricing strategy, new product roadmap)
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Raylo (London, England) in Nov 2023
Interview
I went through 4 stages of a 5 stage process.
1. Call with Talent Lead
2. 60 min SQL test
3. Interview with line manager
4. Case study and values interview
The 5th stage would have been a chat with one of the founders.
Overall I found the experience to be positive, this was largely driven by the Talent Lead who was always a pleasure to communicate with.
I did find the process to be quite time consuming and I don't think its clear what is expected from the values interview, I was told it was with non technical stakeholders but then the feedback was that I wasn't technical enough in that interview.
Overall though this was definitely one of the better long interview processes I have been through.
