      Sales Interview

      5 June 2009
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Charlotte, NC
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Red Ventures (Charlotte, NC) in Apr 2009

      Interview

My experiences were extremely similar to the first review already posted. My biggest problem with the entire event is that every person in the company seemed to be the type of people who were not exactly in the popular crowd when they were in high school and college and are now trying to relive their younger days. They all seemed more interested in how I would fit in around there with the Red Ventures culture and what kinds of things I would do after work hours with my coworkers than if I could actually do the job, which would explain why they have a sorority for grownups environment. The questions I received in the various stages of the "interviews" were more of what I would expect if I was pledging for a sorority than applying for a job. It came across as almost cult like with how they all had the same lines about "we work hard and we play hard" over and over. Most of the people I encountered were not only socially awkward types, but had the personality of a brick wall. I couldn't imagine having to work with those people on a daily basis. Even worse would be the expectation to spend time with them outside of work hours. Besides that, I just didn't really get the impression that the people I interacted with were all that particularly intelligent. They definitely come across as unimpressive in my interactions with them, not like how people of a similar job title and position would come across at another company. Maybe it is just because they are socially awkward and they are actually smarter than they came across, but then they shouldn't be in sales based jobs, should they? If you are more interested in hanging out with other employees outside of work in an adult sorority above actually doing any sort of work, then Red Ventures may just be the place for you. If you don't fall into that group, then Red Ventures is going to end up being a massive waste of time for anyone involved.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The same questions from the same sheets were asked over and over, which were all fairly basic standard interviewing questions. Being asked to repeat my answers over and over had to be among the most annoying things in the interview process.

      Interview

Submitted application online then standard phone screen. It was not too difficult and there were no questions asked that I found to be confusing. There were some scenario questions "Tell me about a time" that may be challenging depending on experience.

I had a good interview with some mocking practice. There was waiting time before interview, the waiting time was 25- 40 minutes. I had to wait for a long time, but the Zoom interview was good.
