I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Red61 (Edinburgh, Scotland) in July 2023
Interview
Was referred by a recruiter. Initial call with the CTO with a general discussion of my experience. Second interview over video call with members of the dev team including more technical discussion and some basic technical assessment - e.g. looking for issues in some existing code. Finally an onsite meeting with some of the senior team to iron out some of my outstanding questions about the role.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Red61 in Feb 2017
Interview
Was contacted directly and asked to come in for a face to face interview with the senior sysadmin and one other manager. The interview itself was semi informal and quite straight forward and both people involved were friendly and approachable. I ran through my CV and then answered questions about my past experience and expertise. Some of their questions stumped me but I'm from more of a programming background. A more experienced sysadmin would have had no trouble. They do have some complex systems and the senior sysadmin will be able to tell if you don't know your stuff!
