      Interview

Tl;dr: Disorganized hiring, favoritism, and no respect for senior candidates’ time. I do not recommend interviewing here if you are a seasoned professional with standards around process, clarity, or respect for time. The hiring process is a mess. Candidates are asked to spend roughly two and a half hours interviewing, often in a backwards order that serves no clear purpose. During the interviews, multiple interviewers signal interest and speak positively about next steps, only for candidates to later receive a generic rejection email with no context or feedback. The recruiter openly shared that offer acceptance is a major challenge for the company. Based on this experience, that should not be surprising. The process itself undermines confidence and signals a lack of alignment and internal discipline. There is a strong sense that hiring is driven by internal relationships rather than rigor. Friends are hired. People are promoted into roles within a few months that they are clearly not prepared for. Many interviewers appear junior, underqualified for the role they are evaluating, and unfamiliar with the candidate’s background or resume. Several interviewers did not come prepared with questions and instead expected the candidate to run the entire forty five minute session by asking their own questions. There was little explanation of why interviewers joined the company, how teams actually work together, or what success looks like in the role. The burden of structure was pushed entirely onto the candidate. The company frames this as being “scrappy,” but in practice it reads as disorganized and unserious. Scrappiness is not a substitute for basic planning or respect for candidates’ time. If you are early in your career and willing to tolerate chaos, this may be acceptable. If you are experienced, selective, and value thoughtful, professional hiring practices, this is very likely a waste of time. Hopefully this helps all parties.
