I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Reynolds and Reynolds (Kettering, OH) in Oct 2014
Interview
Step 1: Applied online.
Step 2: Asked to take remote personality and intelligence/cognitive recognition analysis test.
Step 3: Called by recruiter after passing the baseline tests and asked if I wanted to come in or do a video re-test. (This is standard practice for Reyrey, to ensure no cheating occurred during the test taking. I was offered the chance to do via video proctoring due to being over an hour away.)
Step 4: Drove in for proctored retest, was scheduled for immediate interview with Director after passing again.
Step 5: During interview (standard interview questions for entry to mid-level positions), Director realized I may be a better fit in the Information Security department and had that team manager join us. Was interviewed by the manager (more standard questions) and was given the choice of joining either the Information Operations or Information Security teams. Upon choosing the Security team, manager and I spent more time going over standard questions and me getting more information about the Information Security team.
Step 6: When we were both appeased, she brought in the Vice President of Information Technology for final interview and salary negotiation. He and I had a good talk and came to a agreement on salary.
Step 7: HR Recruiter came in to take paperwork authorizing background check, credit check, and performed oral drug test. (Note: no tobacco use is allowed for employees of the company, random screenings do occur, you will be terminated if found to be a tobbacco or drug user.)
Step 8: Received call with job offer one week later, salary was changed to 12% less that agreed on with VP. Had HR recruiter contact VP to verify the offer and asked for contact information to do the same. Was denied his contact information and received a call back one hour later with verification of salary reduction.

Interview
Zoom call very straight forward. They ask you about your personal habits outside of work because they dont allow drinking or smoking of any kind even on your own personal time. Im not a smoker or drinker but that was kind of off putting. Other than that it was a pretty nice experience.

Interview
Not much of a process. Was sent a link to complete an application and aptitude test that they estimated to take over 2 hours. I cannot stress how unrelated the test was to the position I applied for but it was just off putting for me. I will not devote that much time to an APPLICATION. I do not care how they see this, but they should know this process is likely why they have a high turn over. Starting your potential employees off with a bad taste in their mouth about your processes.

Question 1
An aptitude test likely to take hours away from my day. I was emailed a link Friday afternoon and told to finish it in 2 business days. I was emailed on Monday morning for not finishing it and was given an extension. This person clearly doesn't understand the concept of "business" days.

Take an aptitude test then go through an interview process if you pass. I could see the test being difficult for a lot of people, I was lucky because I just got done with teaching half a semester of high school algebra and that's what basically half the test. I would definitely spend a couple of hours on Kahn Academy and freshen up on algebra if you're really interested.
