      Ecommerce Analyst Interview

      21 July 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Riot Games (Los Angeles, CA) in July 2016

      Interview

A week after I submitted the online application, I was given an phone interview invitation (Week 1). I was told to choose available time slots on their online calendar but the recruiter did not get back to me until I emailed her the following week after the first chosen time slot has already passed. We scheduled for an interview the same week (Week 2). The interview was easy, because I reviewed for the interview questions on Glassdoor, and the recruiter asked the same questions. The phone interview lasted 30 mins, and the recruiter said I will hear back next week. I did not hear back the following week and the recruiter did not reply to my emails (Week 3). I received an automated rejection email on Week 4.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about yourself. How long have you been playing LoL? Do you play rank? Why Riot? What is your favorite LoL champion? Walk me through your resume. Which project are you most proud of? Why do you want this position? Do you have any questions about this position? Compensation? Relocation?

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Riot Games (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Applied through their website. Got an invite for a phone screen pretty quickly, recruiter verified parts of my resume (which included job & LoL xp) and moved me on to the next round. 2nd round (1st "real" interview) was a quantitative screen. 3rd round was with the hiring manager on a basic Ecomm case. I did pretty well and made it to the final round... a 6 hour onsite superday for all the marbles. They flew me into LA and put me up in a nice hotel, got a tour of their entire campus and met lots of Rioters, which was awesome. The campus is pretty insane. Anyway the onsite was by far the toughest round, with harder cases and much more specific behavioral/fit questions than in the previous interviews. They got back to me within 24 hours after the superday to let me know that "at this time... cannot make you an offer". They stressed to me that it was a very close decision, and asked me to potentially reapply in the future (to hear them tell it... they only say this to ~10% of applicants, no way for me to know if that's actually true though). Not sure if I will reapply or not, but overall the process was pretty smooth and I definitely learned a lot.
