This company reached out to me after having my resume on file for 8 months to see if I was still interested in applying. When I expressed interest, I was given "3 Sample Tasks" to complete, to judge my ability to perform the duties the job required. After completing them, I was asked what time zone I was in (PST) to set up an informal interview. 2 hours before the interview, I received an email saying that we would not be able to have one if I lived in California, which was somehow not caught on my resume during this entire process. I tried explaining that while I did live in California, I would be moving overseas very soon. The recruiter told me it was possible to have employees work abroad, but was not satisfied with my answer of what time zones I could work in, and promptly canceled the interview, explaining that the company "was not comfortable" explaining to clients that their employees work abroad. This occurred less than half an hour before it was scheduled to start. After the assignment took 5 hours to complete, and a long back-and-forth with the recruiter, it felt like an incredibly uncoordinated and unprofessional hiring process, where the recruitment team weren't sure who fits the job description or their company, while stringing candidates along in the process.
