I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Roblox (San Mateo, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
Applied online. Got contacted by recruiter, did the phone screen and then onsite and then leadership/executive interview.
My major issue with the process is how mediocre/non-existent recruiter communication was through the whole process. On several occasions, I was promised an update after some interviews only to never hear back. After the last interviews I was told that I have strong hire feedback across the board and that I should be expecting an offer and was asked about salary range expectations etc by the recruiter before they went into the hiring committee meeting with the VP/hiring manager. Was promised an update within 2 days only to not hear back for a week. Email messages to the recruiter have gone unanswered.
Its now been more than a month since the last interview and I am still waiting for an update.
Is expecting a generic rejection email after doing 10+ interviews with a company too much to ask ?
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Generic coding questions similar to what you find on leetcode.
System design is more Roblox related problems.
Took an OA. Pretty difficult leetcode style questions and some games (Roblox games and psychology based games to determine personality traits). I did not get through the initial online assessment.
One standard hr phone call then one 60 min phone screen. Nothing out of the ordinary. Phone screen was done on codesignal where you could see code compile and run
Interview consisted of two leetcode style questions and two "games" that tested problem solving and optimization. Coding questions were of medium/hard difficulty. The games were difficult as the instructions given were terrible and unintuitive.
