It was very unprofessional and weird. I was only asked one question. The rest of the time the store manager just jabbered at me. It seemed like a red flag at the time that he didn't have any other questions for me. I should have trusted my gut and declined the job offer.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Rockler in Mar 2016
Interview
I applied online and was called a few hours later. At first I thought this was good, the company moved fast. Now, I think it's because they must not receive many applications.
The Store Manager was unprepared when we talked on the phone and when I interviewed, and he was late. Despite that, he was a nice guy and the interview went very well. I was told I would move on and need to talk to the Regional Manager next.
Then I got an email for one of those stupid personality tests. I instantly changed my mind and decided I didn't want to work here. It was a crazy 120 questions and they continued to ask if you're aggressive assertive, and stupid math problems. Please, who still uses these things!!
Haven't heard from them in 3 weeks, so I'm assuming some dodo bird in corporate thought the personality test outweighed the manager's decision. I purposefully try to fail those things because they are a waste of time. I've failed twice before, but was still hired and ended up being in management at both of those companies. So, again, who uses these things?
I liked the Store Manager, but had a very negative feeling about the company overall. Maybe I'll reapply in 40 years when I finally enter their age demographic.
