      Summer Associate Interview

      I interviewed at Roland Berger

      Interview

Straightforward case interview. Interviewing person was from the TMT team. Whole process was very professional and despite my lackluster performance she gave very good feedback. The company's HR actually took the extra effort to call back after my interview to give me more specific feedback.

      Summer Associate Interview

      28 Apr 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Roland Berger in Jan 2023

      Interview

There were two rounds for the MBA Summer Associate internship, both of which were arranged through my MBA program. Both were conducted virtually over Microsoft Teams with Roland Berger consultants in their Chicago office. The first round was with a principal. It last maybe 30 minutes or so. This one was relatively easy going with a small case that required me to do some "quick math." After the first round interview I was advanced to the second round. This was technically two interviews, one with a principal and one with a partner. I spoke with the principal first and was weird. Whether intentionally or not, the principal was rude to the point of being unprofessional. He focused primarily on asking me behavioral questions, but would then make some sarcastic remarks after some of my responses. After that, I spoke with the partner who was much friendlier. He gave me a case that was much more difficult than the one I had in round one and, to be honest, I did not do well on that at all. After that, I heard back a day or two later over email that I was not selected for the position.
