Call with a recruiter who tried matching me with a senior position when I just recently graduated college. Tried to make it clear EXACTLY what both my qualifications and limitations were and she said “you would be a great fit for this role.” I was super confused, but thought she maybe knew something I didn’t. Wrong. The interviewers were just as confused as I was in a zoom call that was supposed to be one-hour long, but ended after 30 minutes. They kept asking if I had experience in different technologies, and as I answered no repeatedly, their confusion grew. One of them never turned on his camera the whole time! I don’t blame the interviewers, but I definitely question the recruiter - did she just have to get a certain number of people to interview for the role, and she knew I wasn’t qualified? That’s my guess
