I interviewed for a Product Manager role and found the experience disappointing due to a lack of professionalism and poor communication throughout the process. After waiting nearly a month for the second interview to be scheduled, the meeting was postponed and ultimately started several minutes late.
When the interview began, the interviewer appeared rushed and disengaged and was drinking a soft drink during the conversation. She provided a brief overview of her role that relied heavily on internal acronyms, without offering clarification or context. The interaction felt one-sided, with little effort to create a dialogue or ensure mutual understanding.
I was asked to introduce myself, discuss relevant metrics, and outline how I would approach specific product challenges. Despite providing detailed responses, there were no follow-up questions, and the interview ended abruptly after approximately 20 minutes. The following day, I received a generic rejection email from HR with no feedback or explanation.
Overall, the process felt impersonal and did not reflect a respectful or engaging candidate experience. I hope the company considers improving its interview practices to ensure a more professional, structured, and considerate approach toward candidates’ time and effort.
