I applied through other source. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Safeway
Interview
My interview and hiring process was very atypical. The company purchased the prescription files of the only independent pharmacy left in that town, and I was the pharmacist-in-charge of that pharmacy. The pharmacy was very popular due to our customer service and detailed patient counseling, so Safeway wanted the continuity of having me as a pharmacist in their pharmacy. They were only waiting for the independent pharmacy to announce its closure to offer me the position. I was required to submit a resume and have an "interview" but the interview primarily consisted of the mandatory drug test and chatting about the last few weeks at the independent pharmacy, how best to handle the transfer, and what my sign-on bonus would be. The question wasn't so much if I would be offered the job (because that had already been handled), but if I would accept the job.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
It wasn't really difficult or unexpected, but I needed to discuss my drug test due to the legitimately prescribed drugs that I was taking and which would appear in the drug test results. I had already discussed this fact with the regional pharmacy manager when he offered me the job at a previous lunch meeting, but I did need to go over it with the recruitment manager during the "interview".
Interview was on zoom for about an hour. Couple questions like what would you do if there was an upset patient, what ways would you try to promote the business
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Safeway (San Jose, CA) in July 2022
Interview
The video interview was over Microsoft Teams. The interview took around 30 minutes with time for questions. The questions that were asked were typical and not out of the ordinary.

Describe a moment when you handled a challenging situation with a patient.
Due to COVID restrictions, the interview was set up as a zoom meeting with myself (candidate), pharmacy manager, and district manager. The bulk of the questions were from the pharmacy manager.
