I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sceptre Tours (Rockville Centre, NY) in May 2012
Interview
Very informal interview focusing on experience and mostly behavioral. There was a presentation element to help get an understanding of my presentation skills and research capabilities. Also required I take a personality exam. Actually very interesting and I learned a lot about myself and leadership style.
On arrival, I was made to wait, eventhough I had an appointment. I am not sure why I was meant to wait. There was no one exiting when I entered. I was greeted by the manager, he did not have a copy of my resume, good thing I brought copies. He asked alot of things that were already on the resume so it was evident he did not read anything... Conclusion: Manager inexperienced at the interview process and just winging it.... when I talked the industry jargon and he had no clue what I was talking about, that should have been my cue to walk out. I did not want to go the city every day so had to take it. I was desperate. Will never do that again. Will take job in Manhattan and eventually move to Manhattan to avoid having to take the LIRR every day.
