Two interviews. First interview went fairly well and was very professional. I was, however, asked some unsavory questions such as: have you interviewed for other companies? And insistence on knowing which one(s). There were 2 people interviewing me. Since this is a family-based company, the two were related.
I was asked to come in the following day, to interview with a third person (another family member). I was not informed of any tests, or anything of the sort. When I arrived the following day, the person who was supposed to interview me was not there (she was supposedly ill), so the interview was conducted by one of the people who did the first interview. Immediately, I could tell there was something amiss. His attitude was quite different and less enthusiastic (overnight, nothing could have made them change their mind about me?). He started asking me personal questions, claiming he wanted to know if I was a good fit with the rest of the team. I was also asked about the offer I received from another company. I was then informed (without any advance warning or notification) that I would be passing through phone simulation exercises (three!) and that I'd also have to sit through a written exam (3 writing and data entry exercises)............. The phone simulation did not go as well as I would've liked it to, but partly due to the inherent awkwardness of such simulations. The guy then told me that I should get started on the written exam and took me to a workstation in a room where other employees were working. Briefly mentioning my name to them, and nothing more. They kept wondering what I was doing, and I felt so out of place there while writing the test. I was also told that the interviewer (the only boss who was there on that day) would now be leaving as he had other matters to attend to. When leaving, he did not even say "bye" or "it was a pleasure to meet you again" or "We will keep you informed." He even positively ignored me when I attempted to talk to him...... He then just left....... I finished the test, and wasn't sure what to do, and just got up and left....... worst experience of my life... so unprofessional.
A few hours later, I got an email saying that my application was not retained. I had another job offer (better paying, but different domain), so I was not super disappointed, but the unprofessionalism was super-disgusting.
