I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at SimScale (Boston, MA) in Nov 2018
Interview
I have never posted an interview review previously, but thought I may be able to provide some insight for future SimScale applicants in the U.S.
Interview process dragged out over 3 months since the initial phone screening. First a standard phone screening was held by a recuiter. Next, an intro 1 hour phone call was hosted by a co-founder. After a weeks, I was contacted with a professional, polite follow up message letting me know that they would not be continuing the process for the time being but would be open to picking the conversation back up in the future.
After I did not respond to that message, I was contacted yet again months later. Due to the fact that I was intially interested in their solution and target market, I agreed to persue. After yet another hour long Skype session I was told the next steps would soon be scheduled. I then had to send multiple follow ups for the next step in the interview process. Eventually another 1 hour long Skype session (very repetitive) was scheduled, followed by a several hour assessment interview. I did not recieve an offer but I did at least receive a timely response for the first time in the process at least.
As the begin to hire and expand in the U.S. I hope they streamline their hiring process for the respect of people's time. Another recommendation is providing an agenda ahead of a scheduled 4 hour assessment. Another piece of insight I would like to provide is that the company has already experienced turnover within the brand new U.S. team.
