Recruiter reached out to set up an initial screener. We talked for almost an hour as they were a very friendly person, and we set up an interview with the hiring manager. During the screener call with the recruiter, I inquired about salary because comp for Senior-Principal PMs has an enormous range. I am currently paid well but not FAANG levels. Sirius came in significantly lower than my current comp. After a lot of pushing and the hiring manager supposedly fighting hard for me as well, they almost came up to my current salary....almost! It would take a lot more than that for me to leave my current role and jump into the unknown. I have been blinded by cool roles before and taken lateral moves for them, and they've never been worth it so I learned my lesson.
