      Full Stack Developer Interview

      5 June 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Amsterdam
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sitly (Amsterdam) in May 2025

      Interview

I applied through LinkedIn and got invited for an interview three days later. The first red flag was that the company didn’t have an HR department. I got the interview invite from someone whose role had nothing to do with hiring. After a short chat with the company’s manager, I was invited to a technical interview by someone else—again, not from HR. The technical interview wasn’t very advanced, and some of the questions made me wonder if their engineering structure was really solid. So I decided to ask a few questions myself. That’s when I found out they were using pretty outdated tools, there wasn’t much consistency in their workflow, tasks could get canceled halfway through, and they didn’t seem open to using modern tools. Also, it seemed like the existing devs had more say than usual when it came to decisions. They reached out again to send me a technical test, but I ended up getting a better offer elsewhere, so I didn’t continue with them.
