      Flight Attendant Interview

      8 Mar 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Atlanta, GA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines (Atlanta, GA) in Mar 2017

      Interview

Check In started at 5pm and the interview starts at 6pm SHARP. You check in, turn in your resume and the recruiter asks if you've applied online prior, then you get a height test. From the website you have to be between 5-6 ft. A girl in front of me got turned away because she was just under 5ft. You sit down and wait until the presentation. Make it a point to sit next to someone new not just to show the recruiters you're talkative but to meet people. I had such a fun time meeting people and hearing where they came from and you end up finding buddies to root each other on, very fun atmosphere. After the intro and Q&A there is a break for those that want to leave to leave. Next is the 1 minute "Why do you want to be a flight attendant?" They give you clear instructions on how to answer and yet some still did not follow directions. Share your qualities, background customer service experience. Also, don't accidentally say "Southwest" in your 1 minute.... Be yourself! There were a lot of people who were previous FA's who were a bit arrogant and they did not advance. I thought I fumbled mine, but they're looking for personality and real people. There were two rooms with 50-75 people in each. The people who advanced to F2F were maybe total 30-40 people. My class had 20 people advance. Overall wonderful experience, be you, be creative and have fun. At the end of the day you gain experience in how this Open House works so there is nothing to lose. Chat, meet people be nervous and excited together, root each other on and just go with the flow. I made myself eat dinner prior, however a lot of candidate were starving, it's a good 5-6 hour process.. EAT or bring snacks to eat during breaks/in the bathroom. We're told we will get an email within 2 weeks with the TBNT or invitation to training.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

"Why do you want to be a Flight Attendant?" F2F Reviewed my resume and asked questions Read an announcement "Why do you want to be a SkyWest FA?" "What are the most difficult people to deal with?" "What would you find to be the most difficult about this job?" "There is a passenger on a business call during and after your announcement, what do you do?" "There is a passenger that is complaining of an upset stomach, what do you do?" "What do you look for most in a career?" "Do you have any questions for me?" Ask them at least one question to show you have researched and are interested. "How did you get started in this industry?" "What do you find most difficult about this career?" etc.

It was a virtual one on one and after this process they alerted me of my training date a week later. The process was so pretty seemless and the company is good to work for but any little mistake you make you can be out.
