I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines in Dec 2017
Interview
They start check-in at 5, and separated us into two groups and put us in separate rooms. They started their introduction at 6. Two flight attendant talked about the company, training, what to expect, and then they answered anyone’s questions. We then went on a 5-10 minute break and then went around the room for everyone’s 60 second presentation for “what would make you a great flight attendant?”. Make sure you don’t go over 60 seconds!! Focus on work experience and qualities that apply to the question. PLEASE do not say “I love to travel” or say that you are nervous during your presentation. Just stay calm and be yourself! After everyone has gone (it took about 2 hours, there were a lot of people there!!) we all took an hour break for them to choose who got the f2f. I was lucky enough to get a f2f!! They chose about 40 people out of group of I think almost 200. Those who got the f2f were brought into a room to fill out some paperwork, and then we were all taken out of the room and called out by name one by one to have the interview. Again, stay calm and be yourself! They went over my resume and asked a few questions about that, then they asked me things like are you comfortable relocating and do you have any visible tattoos? Then they asked typical situational questions as well as had me read an announcement off of a paper. Then I was told I would hear back via email in the next 2 weeks. Overall, the entire process lasted from 5(check-in) until about 11. Super excited and I’m feeling confident! Good luck everyone!!
Advice: bring a snack!! I was starving by about hour one of the presentations.
Practice your speech, but don’t memorize it! Keep it natural and conversational, but don’t get TOO casual. Remember, it is an interview for a job. (had a few people in my group talk about drinking alcohol..)
MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE NAME OF THE COMPANY!! Two people said ExpressJet during their interview and one person said Southwest..
And lastly, make sure you dress professional!
What do you do if someone approaches you asking for a different seat because the person they are say next to is large and requires a seatbelt extension?
It was a virtual one on one and after this process they alerted me of my training date a week later. The process was so pretty seemless and the company is good to work for but any little mistake you make you can be out.
The interview process was quick and easy. The recruiters were nice and answered all of my questions. They explained how the benefits worked and were very knowledgeable and the company.
I applied online. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines (Atlanta, GA) in May 2026
Interview
Most of the interview involved picking apart my previous work experience. Asked a few basic questions, they are just looking for a certain look. It’s obvious. My look did not fit the part
