Smith Arnold Partners interview questions

I applied for the position on linkedin and a few days later I received an email asking me to provide 3 references before anything would move forward, this seems like a data collection operation and I'm doubtful the job is real. The form they want references to fill out is very long and I wouldn't want to ask anyone to fill out such a form on my behalf without knowing if the job is even real
