I had fairly pleasant experiences interviewing with Sock Club. I made it through 3 rounds of interviews I believe, with HR and with various developers. After my 3rd interview, the last person I had spoken to told me to expect to hear back within a few days. I expected we would be talking about a job offer. I was very excited and thought I had clicked with everyone I spoke to. Two weeks go by... I send an email following up, no response. I never heard back again, completely ghosted. Insult to injury, I found the same job listing newly posted a few weeks later. I think it's been 4 months, so I'm not expecting to hear back lol.
I've been ghosted by so many tech companies I've spoken to and interviewed with, I can't count them. But this one felt particularly scummy. Almost made me quit my search altogether, I really had to rebound from that one. I'm sure that everyone who's gone through it, or knows someone who's gone through it, knows that common decency is rare to find in the tech interviewing world. But when I think of companies that took the cake for me, in terms of leaving a bad taste in my mouth, I think of Sock Club, and one other well known iconic tech company decades past their glory days who you might be able to guess.
