Online application. Invited for an interview a week or so after the closing date. Met with the divisional manager and HR who were welcoming - quite a laid back interview. I was asked about my career to date plus a series of corporate competency-based questions before having to undertake a writing test. Such a test seems pretty normal for a writing role these days, although this one was a bit odd given that it had to written by hand in a notebook - maybe they employ some weird graphology analysis for recruiting purposes. It was made even more difficult with the pages of information that were provided to draw on, some of it very poorly structured/written. This meant that only a sloppy and rushed piece of work could be produced in the allotted time - a bit like sitting an exam without bothering to revise for it first.
