I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Spire (Saint Louis, MO) in Dec 2017
Interview
My initial phone interview with the recruiter was set to be 15 minutes but lasted 50. I felt good about it then was asked to an in-person interview with the hiring manager for the position. That interview, too, went over the allotted time and, I thought, went well. I sent a follow up email thinking them for the interview and asked when I could expect a follow up. He informed me that I should be hearing any day now. After several weeks past I contacted the recruiter to ask what the status was. He said he would let me know in a couple days. Several more weeks past and I sent another email, this time stating that I was assuming that I was no longer a candidate for the position, but that I'd like some feedback as to why. He informed me that I was still a candidate and that they should make a decision any day now. Two days later I got a form letter that the position had been filled. There was no feedback or explanation, nor was there any rational why the process took three months. I assume they were leading me on in case their other choice didn't work out.

Question 1
