      Flight Attendant Interview

      12 Mar 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Fort Lauderdale, FL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Spirit Airlines (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

      Interview

For the love of God, do NOT attend this interview if you live too far to drive. The entire process is a joke and a waste of time! First off, instead of weaving out unqualified candidates by (*cough*) reviewing resumes, they will invite all who apply. Therefore expect 200-300 people, aka, get there (at minimum!) one hour early. MAKE SURE you have copies of your documents, this is no joke, they will send you away. Secondly, once checkin is completed, you'll sit through an hour presentation (which really wasn't that bad actually). Fyi, if they gloat that their Reserve "on call" period is only one year and tell you United is 18 years, therefore, work for us, not United, that's a lie! United has tons of Domiciles which you'll have lines (permanent schedules which are not "on call") in about 2 years or less. Lastly, because it's such a large group, they will divide everyone into 2-4 groups, depending on size. Everyone will take terns one by one picking from a bowl which has about 20 different questions, which absolutely do not pertain to the job, such as "How to describe yellow to a blind person" or "if you could plan a party, what would the theme be".. Anyway, this is where I have issues with this company and the emphasis on this post.. This ONE question will make or break you. Because the the group size is so massive, this is their way of weaving out the masses. (Again, instead of pre-qualifying candidates or capping out the size of the group and hosting multiple interviews). Once everyone takes their turn, they break for about 20 minutes, then announce who will move on and who will go home. Again, based on ONE irrelevant, random question, they feel they can gage a person well enough, really? It's really a matter of luck, on how easy or hard your question may be.. Therefore in conclusion, unless you're close enough to drive, please do yourself a favor! A group of us (keep in mind all very qualified) flew across the country, all to be dismissed after ONE question. Thank you for reading, sorry for rambling. Good luck.
