Terrible. They made me do 2 technical challenges that took me way too long, and at the end, dumped me without an explanation (I had to ask them why it was taking them so long, and them they finally gave me a generic reason).
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Suger.io (Vancouver, BC) in July 2025
Interview
The process was extremely time-consuming and poorly managed. Over the course of almost a month, they asked me to revise a coding project multiple times without ever giving clear standards or consistent feedback. Instead of providing a straightforward rejection when they were not satisfied, they kept dragging the process and comparing candidates, which felt irresponsible and disrespectful to my time and effort.

Question 1
They asked me to complete a coding project and make repeated modifications based on vague feedback.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Suger.io (Vancouver, BC) in July 2025
Interview
Recruiter contacted me for a role. The initial conversation with the recruiter and the team were fairly standard.
There will be 2 take-home assignments. The assignments require the integration of new components and third-party API into a complex and undocumented codebase. It was far more than typical take-home and felt closer to unpaid project work which should spent 1~2 sprints for experienced engineers.
Also I got ghosted after submitting work and had to follow-up myself to get generic rejection. The overall process felt disrespectful for candidate's time.
