Owner is desperate in looking to hire people. The job came off as a Marketing/PR position with the "promise" to help assist on design jobs, but I quickly learned that she was looking for a sales associate to work in her retail store and an assistant. The interview process was quick- I emailed my resume and owner got back to me that day asking to come in after COB. We met and talked about the position but she kept talking about how incompetent her current staff was (red flag #1). She asked me to come in for a "working interview" where we would freshen up her retail store and talk further about position. The "working interview" turned out to be me helping her pack her car with boxes before she was to leave for her Rhode Island office and only discussed the position when asked by me. Also, she wanted me to work in her retail store by myself with no proper training to "see if it was a good fit" when I had already said that wasn't something I was comfortable with. I decided to not take this position and was very confident in my decision.
