I applied to Synchrony at Research Park at the University of Illinois, so they primarily take students.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Synchrony (Champaign, IL) in July 2021
Interview
It was fairly straightforward, with candidates having to present a technical topic to the interviewer and having to answer questions afterwards. Overall, the interview was pretty stress-free and enjoyable. This was an internship from my college, so it might not be applicable for other places.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Synchrony in Mar 2018

The process is simple.
There's only two rounds of interview in which you get asked both behavioral and technical questions.
Make sure that you know every detail about the project you worked on and what you learnt.
