I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Tableau (Cambridge, MA)
Interview
The interview took three parts. First, an in-person discussion at their offices. Then they encouraged a meet and greet for staff and potential hires. Finally a coding session done online.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Write and code an algorithm for a minimum cost "stick joiner." Joining two sticks costs N where N is the resulting length of the stick. So joining a 1 length stick to a 2 length stick costs 3, while joining a 8 to a 5 costs 13.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Tableau (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in Jan 2021
Interview
Had a day of interviews with 4 different department managers. Went well and a lot of “tell me about a time” questions. Each interviewer was nice and accommodating. Recruiter walks you through each step and what to expect

Question 1
Tell me about a time when a customer was mad about an experience with your service provided and how you overcame that
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Tableau (London, England) in Aug 2020
Interview
was contacted by an agency re an job post that i applied for. i then spoke the hiring manager and the other manager, which i received great feedback. i then had to present to a panel of influencers, however, the people who were part of the panel changed at the last minute. the process took several months considering it could of been streamlined and taken a month or so. i finally received a call from the agency to say i did not secure the role and feedback which was not relevant to the brief i had to present and the role. i did not secure the role but given the feedback and that they did not know what they were looking for and i was not the only one who kept getting different feedback i would not recommend this company at all. the process was long and the role was a contract and they still expected you to jump through loops. don't bother i suggest.

Question 1
how do i deal with leads when tableau has both a direct and channel sales model. i have been in partner marketing for over 25 years and come up against this many times previously but this is not a question for marketing its a sale issues and sales leadership issue that needs to be addressed and rectified and not myself. the role was somewhat junior so i would not be involved in any of these discussions anyway. so its showed their lack of expertise or understanding of the role, or they wanted to ask just random questions in order to provide feedback that i was not right for the job
