Be honest when writing your French letter. If you present well, they’ll overlook your less than perfect French.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Teaching Assistant Program in France (Richmond, VA) in Jan 2014
Interview
Just needed a letter of recommendation and proof of experience. Also needed to write letter of interest. It's best to have a French professor write the letter. If not you have to take a test to determine how fluent you speak the language. Shouldn't be a problem if you've spoken French for several years. The test is just to determine if you would be able to communicate in France without a problem.
