Really positive experience, friendly and casual interview that was very conversational. Asked about past experience, connection and perspective on Australian culture and values, as the company has a lens on culture through their work.

Question 1
What have you seen in Australian culture and society recently that has implications for brands?
The process took 3 months. I interviewed at The Lab Insight and Strategy
Interview
My interview process was a little underwhelming and throughout the process the business really just gave the impression of being disorganised and chaotic.
Initially I had been introduced to The Lab via a mutual connection for a general meet and greet, which turned out to be a casual chat via video call. We had a wonderful chat and I left feeling very optimistic.
But then here’s where things just vaporised into nothing.
Despite several follow up emails, the firm had just become unreachable and completely ghosted me as a candidate.
Several months later the recruiter managed to follow up and secure a second, face to face interview. The company promised to call me to ‘apologise for their disorganisation’. I sat by the phone and the call never came.
Eventually, I was invited into the office for a second interview. I took the day off to attend and travel into their office. The interviewer seemed like a nice character and provided a great overview of the business. We spoke about next steps and a task that I would be given. Finally - things were moving along.
But again, after this meeting, the company ghosted me once more. I sent several follow up emails, and nothing. No acknowledgement. No response.
Eventually the recruiter came back to me and mentioned they were looking for a different kind of experience, which honestly could have been avoided if they didn’t take me through the process in the first place. After all, they had my CV and experience right in front of them.
So long story short. Disorganised, ghosting, unable to respond to emails. Not impressive at all. Would suggest avoiding.
