ThoughtWorks' recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, saying I was a good fit for a role they were hiring for. I shared my resume and had an initial interview with one recruiter, who then invited me to a second round involving a case study. Although the role was based in Sydney, none of the interviewers were from there; they were all in Singapore. I found the interviews quite basic, and they didn't seem to understand my questions. Their knowledge of the current UX process also didn't meet my expectations. I was ultimately rejected, which made sense given that the seniority level of the interviewers didn't align with my experience. Overall, I was very disappointed with the experience, especially since no one from Australia contacted me. It didn't feel like a proper hiring process for a Sydney-based role, as I asked questions about local expectations and was told they didn't know and that things should be different in Australia.
