      Senior Consultant Interview

      26 Dec 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Thoughtworks in Nov 2014

      Interview

The entire process was spread over 2 weeks starting with a coding assignment and ending with an interview with one of the managing directors. The coding assignments are moderate in difficulty, I chose to use a language I wasn't familiar with off the back of a 6 month career break so found it very hard. However, if I had chosen to stick with something more familiar and if I had attacked it with a warm brain I think I would have found it quite easy. My advice for the coding assignment is to lean on your best practices. I found the pairing interview a little awkward. I'm no stranger to pairing having paired 80% of the time in my previous position and also having conducted pairing interviews. However, the structure of the pairing interview made me feel very nervous - you do the driver / navigator pattern; you navigate for 20 minutes then you drive for 20 minutes. I wouldn't have minded it so much if, when I came to drive I just drove, but the person pairing with me expected me to navigate too. I didn't like that, the point of the interview is to pair with someone not to get them to code under pressure. After pairing I did a wonderlic and logic test, both were moderate in difficulty and the fact that they're timed added to the pressure. The technical interview was fantastic. I was asked a few questions about how I would handle certain situations as a consultant and then we moved onto my experience. We worked loosely through my CV, I presented a couple of problems and solutions to my interviewers on the whiteboard and they asked more questions. It felt informal friendly and if you're passionate about what you do you'll shine. The cultural fit was similar to the technical interview except we spoke mainly about life as a consultant and life outside work. I was asked some really challenging but interesting questions about my thoughts on technology and its role in society. I was also very pleased with how honestly the interviewers answered my questions and told me about their feelings towards some parts of ThoughtWorks life that they didn't like. For me this interview was the most positive and by the end of it I had decided that I definitely wanted to work for the company. The final interview was an hour long chat with a managing director. I foolishly went into this one thinking that it was more of a formality but soon realised it was going to be just as tough as the others! I was again asked some challenging questions about my views on technology which I enjoyed answering. I was also impressed with the answers I was given to questions about where the company fits in the market and how it has changed over the past 5 years. Overall the interview process was challenging but in a positive way. I ended most of the interviews with a smile on my face feeling very positive about the company and for that reason I would encourage anyone with a passion for technology and consulting to apply.

      Senior Consultant Interview

      2 June 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Singapore
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Thoughtworks (Singapore) in May 2026

      Interview

The recruiter contacted me via LinkedIn to ask whether interested in the above role. So, I decided to give it a try. The interviewers were professional and the interviews went well. It consists of multiple rounds including- 1. Recruiter screen 2. Code pairing interview 3. Technical interview 4. Cultural fit and leadership interview. After I been through final round interview I was rejected although they claimed I did well in final round. The feedback given was because the company felt my experiences did not align with their current project needs. What was disappointing is that this should have been identified during the initial screening stage, as my background was clearly stated in my resume and also during the recruiter screening. Progressing a candidate through multiple interview rounds, including the final interview, only to reject them for an apparent experience mismatch feels like a waste of the candidate’s time. The recruitment process was also poorly handled. I only received the update for each interview session after I followed up for a status update, rather than being proactively informed. Overall, I would not recommend the interview process due to the inefficient screening and communication. Do not waste your time as I feel they are using candidates to collect certain data or doing market surveys through these processes.
