I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Thumbtack (Melbourne, FL) in July 2022
Interview
I have an initial interview with the recruiter, followed by an interview with the positions management team, and ended with an interview with the department manager.
Everyone was very nice. There were no gotcha questions in regard to this position. All questions were relatively easy to answer. I would have loved to have worked there. It appears to be a great company that works hard to support their employees.
Sadly, I didn’t get the job offer due to a personal issue.

Question 1
What is the first thing you would do in a customer had an issue with a vendor?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Thumbtack (Toronto, ON) in June 2022
Interview
First step: take home writing to show how you respond to questions with empathy.
Second step: 30 minute phone call with recruiter. Surprised that the pay offered was incredibly low for the job that you’ll be doing ($22 USD/hr). Countered with an annual rate about $25,000 higher based on position research through Glassdoor and elsewhere. No further mention of my counter offer, other than the management team would be informed of what I’m offering.
Third step: panel interview with managers and recruiters. However, my panel blended into one, one manager was a no show and no mention of where he went or why he was a no show, one came 30 minutes early and shrugged his shoulders and said well I’m here so let’s do the interview now. One recruiter immediately left, the other never came. This process felt disorganized and winged.
Fourth step: didn’t get to this point, but was told during the second step it would have been a 30 minute call with a manager from the department.
Everyone was lovely to speak with. Recruiter was extremely friendly and on time with responses. Management team was polite, but seemed bored. One left after 30 minutes which was expected, but no mention of needing to leave or pleasantries shared of it was nice to meet you, etc. just a message on zoom and poof, gone.
Company has good reviews, but reading pro complaints has been building over the past few years. It seems the company needs a big revamp with how they handle their clients complaints.

Question 1
Discussed a current situation the team is dealing with and was asked how I would respond to the customer and the pro.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Thumbtack in Feb 2022
Interview
The interview process was very thorough and communicative. It was a panel-type interview. Prior to the interview, the recruiter communicated with me through every step of the way. They were quick to update and though I didn't get the position, the interviewers were kind to provide their advice and perspective.
The questions were fairly standard about myself, my experience and difficult situations I have handled previously. They stated they didn't get a good grasp on my technical ability, to which I believe they should ask more technical questions!
That aside, the excellent communication was refreshing and I regret I didn't get the position.
